great access to parks and local landmarks for city explorers
I stayed for one night and absolutely loved how close the Church of St Thomas of Canterbury is, just a few steps away, and the beautiful Combs Reservoir is only about 2 km away for a peaceful walk through nature.

Perfect for a family get-together
I was really blown away by the amazing food in the restaurant, especially the big plate full with a lovely selection that filled me up nicely. Plus, the soft play area outside kept the kids entertained for hours while we enjoyed some cold drinks in the beer garden — now that's what I call a win-win.

I enjoyed my first overnight stay, especially the cozy atmosphere and the nice view from my top-floor room. Relaxing by the fireplace and taking a stroll in the lovely garden were great ways to unwind. The shower was a bit cramped, but it didn't take away from my overall experience. 😊

Good access to nearby hiking trails made exploring the outdoors easy. The rustic decor adds a certain charm that gives the place personality.
The bathroom floor was soaked, which put a damper on the whole experience. There were holes in the walls and dirty windows that made the room feel run-down. With four of us in a family room, we lacked adequate amenities like extra toilet paper and coffee. A significant gap under the door allowed for noise and light from the corridor, making it hard to get a good night's sleep. Heating was insufficient, and despite a chilly room temperature of 19 degrees, attempts to turn the heaters on were met with resistance. We dealt with a leaking ceiling, and despite alerts to management, no action was taken to remedy this. Breakfast left much to desire, being cold and limited in selection. Adding to the discomfort, the corners of the room were dusty, creating an unwelcoming feeling.

decent stay but lacking some attention to detail
The room was spacious with a great layout and there were plenty of power outlets which made charging devices convenient. The views of the moors from the room were breathtaking and it truly added to our stay. Room service was prompt and the menu offered a variety of options that catered to our family's tastes.
While the overall experience was satisfactory, minor cleanliness issues in certain areas of the hotel were noticeable.

Excellent for Families with Local Charm
We had a fantastic stay, particularly enjoying the spacious family room that accommodated our kids well. The hotel's location was perfect for our outdoor adventures, close to hiking trails, and the home-cooked meals, especially the in-house pizza, were a highlight. the breakfast options could use a bit more variety to match the otherwise great dining experience.

Cozy atmosphere and fantastic dining experience
I really enjoyed my stay, especially the cozy ambiance and the delicious home-cooked meals, particularly the chef's special steak. The staff were incredibly welcoming, making the experience feel personal and engaging. the ensuite shower was quite cramped, which could use some improvement.

Great spot for a quick getaway!
We stayed one night before an event, and it was pretty cool! The staff were super friendly, and that mixed grill dinner was delicious, especially with Chianti. The room was spacious and comfy, but the bedding needed a refresh. Breakfast was a letdown tho – not much choice and just okay overall.

The family room was spacious and had a nice vibe going on. The decor was welcoming, but the room itself felt dated. The ensuite shower was a bit cramped, and overall, I expected it to be cleaner. The bed was comfy enough, but it didn’t live up to the 'deluxe' label. Had some issues with the bathroom fixtures too—definitely needs some maintenance. Nice atmosphere overall, but I think they might want to spruce up the rooms a bit more.
